Premenstrual Syndrome
    Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a disorder that affects many women during the one to two weeks before menstruation begins. Symptoms can include any or all of the following: abdominal bloating, acne, anxiety, backache, breast swelling and tenderness, cramps, depression, food craving, fainting spells, fatigue, headaches,
insomnia, joint pain, nervousness, skin eruptions, water retention, and personality changes such as drastic mood swings, outbursts of anger, violence, and, sometimes, even thoughts of suicide. There are so many symptoms that it is difficult to treat this condition. It is estimated that as many as 80 percent of all women experience some premenstrual symptoms at one time or another.
Herbs: 
Angelica Root:  Have antispasmodic properties and may alleviate cramps
Kava Kava: Helps control cramps and Relieves muscle spasms and reduces pain.
Red Raspberry: Reduces menstrual bleeding, relaxes uterine and intestinal spasms and strengthens uterine walls. also good for menstrual cramps.
Blessed Thistle: Good for female disorders.
Fennel: Helps balance female hormones
Rosemary:  Good for cramps and helps balance the nervous system.
Milk Thistle: Cleanses the liver and helps improve liver function. helps liver metabolize estrogen.
Pau d' Arco: Good for protecting against yeast infections.
Peppermint: Helps to stabilize mood swings.
Valerian Root;  Tones the nervous system.
Recommendations: Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals and breads, beans, peas lentils, nuts and seeds, and broiled chicken, turkey and fish.  If you have to snack between meals have high protein snacks. Include in your diet high complex carbohydrates and rich in fiber.  These help the body bet rid of excess estrogen if high level estrogens is the problem.  Drink at least 1 quart of distilled water each day.starting one week before the menstrual cycle and end one week after. Don't consume salt, red meats, processed foods, or junk or fast foods and also eliminate sodium and these foods one week before and one week after.
